Gianclaudio Torlizzi was born in Roma on the 7th January, in 1977. After having attended classical studies, he started Journalism studies in the LUMSA University of Rome. In 1998, he started dealing with financial issues for the weekly magazine Borsa & Finanza. His task was to analyse financial standing of companies ready to list on Nuovo Mercato. After graduation, in 2001, he moved to New YorK City, USA, where he worked in the financial desk of news agency ANSA specializing in Federal Reserve, Wall Street and energy issues. In 2004 he moved back to Rome as desk editor of news agency Adnkronos where he coordinated the start up of and emerging markets and commodities analysis and real time news service. In 2008 he joined Dow Jones as editorial chief of Italy bureau of the Energy & Commodities unit. In March 2011 he resigned from Dow Jones in order to found T-Commodity, the first Italian consultancy company specialized in market analysis and forecasts of raw materials for industrial purpose. Widely recognized as one of the best italian specialist on raw materials, he is regularly interviewed by Reuters, Bloomberg and Dow Jones. He also takes part as speaker at seminars organized by Confindustria, Confapi and the School of Management of Politecnico University in Milan. He is also commodities consultant for the italian association of purchasing directors (ADACI).
